Because of you, over the past 5 years we have been able to grow our mission and reach out to many more patients and their families. We continue to receive a growing number of donations, so please keep us in mind as your shopping and donation destination.
Being a non-profit organization, you can donate to us knowing that all funds raised are used within our community. Your continued support is appreciated and you never know what treasure you may find in our store!
A special thanks to Container First Services, Sam’s Club and Party City for their support & generous donations!

I have spent many hours trying to reconcile Crater Community Hospice’s motto “Celebrating Life Every Day” with the knowledge that our patients are facing end of life illnesses and don’t have many days left for celebration.
Below is one of our patient’s stories and a full electronic version of your Spring newsletter. Their story gives us all insight.
A Legacy of Love
“…Do all The Good You Can, As Long as Ever You Can…”
The magnet on my parent’s refrigerator was one of the things I grabbed before closing the door to their home for the last time. The full quote by John Wesley captured the essence of Dave and Lucy’s life, for they went about, ‘doing all the good they can, to all the people they can, in all the ways they can, as long as ever they can.’

Once again supporters of Crater Community Hospice participated in raising awareness of this vital community asset. The Progressive Dinner in Old Town Petersburg on September,10th was a wonderful event that was very well attended. The goal of this event was to educate the community and show support for our In-Home Respite Care Program. Our In-Home Respite Care program supports the families and caregivers of individuals served by Crater Community Hospice, by offering them a much needed break for rest and revitalization. This program is funded solely by individual donations and your support truly makes a difference.
This was just another way of “Celebrating Life Every Day.” Everyone enthusiastically embraced the fellowship, the gift baskets, the 50/50 raffle and the beautiful music by flutist Iris Schwartz.
Many thanks to all who made this gathering such an enjoyable event!
Bill will share his own personal journey as a caregiver and will provide helpful tips, resources and self care techniques that will benefit both individual and professional caregivers.
