Crater Community Hospice is honored to be named as the “2019 Non-Profit Organization of the Year” by the Colonial Heights Chamber of Commerce, at their 70th Anniversary Dinner. Crater Community Hospice is recognized for their dedication in educating the community and providing high quality care and supportive services.
“The Board of Directors and I, as CEO of Crater Community Hospice, are so proud of all of our dedicated employees. It is through this dedication we are able to serve our neighbors and provide them with the best possible hospice care. It is also through the support of our community and our partners that we are able to serve our community as a non-profit entity based right here in our community.”
“This level of team work and caring is once again being recognized through this prestigious award. Thank you to all who have supported us during the past 24 years and continue to support Crater Community Hospice.”
~ Tracy Taliaferro, CEO
#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this year’s #GivingTuesday will take place on November 27th and will kick off the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back.
This #GivingTuesday, Crater Community Hospice is asking for donations to enable us to purchase a storage building to store supplies for our Memory Garden. The Memory Garden is a place for our patients, families and the community to reflect and remember the loved ones they have lost. It is open to our community year-round and tended by volunteers. “We have quite a collection of shovels, sprays, gloves, and other accessories to help with upkeep that we need to house. The small closet in our building is running over,” said Cindy Hamlin, Crater Community Hospice’s Development Director.
“The #GivingTuesday donations will allow us to use our normal funds for patient care instead of purchasing a storage building. The dollars saved we can apply directly to support the programs and services we provide for the well-being of those whom we serve in our community,” said Tracy Taliaferro, Crater Community Hospice’s CEO.
