Community Support

Families often ask what they can do in return for the care and services we provided to their loved one. Such generosity to our non-profit hospice allows us to continue providing compassionate care to others in the community who are coping with terminal illness. Frequently our friends and neighbors choose to make memorial gifts or honorariums to honor their loved ones. You may also choose to make gifts on the anniversary of a special event such as a birthday, a wedding anniversary or a holiday.

Donation envelopes are available through Crater Community Hospice or families may ask for memorial gifts through an online or newspaper obituary.

“In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in memory to Crater Community Hospice.”

Crater Community Hospice notifies families of memorial and honorarium donations and thanks the donors for their generosity with an acknowledgement letter.

There are several services that we provide which are not reimbursed by insurance.

Complementary Therapies – Massage and Reiki services in home for both patient and caregiver.

In-home Respite Vouchers – Provides up to 24 hours of in-home care by a licensed agency to allow the caregiver to rest or attend a family function.

Sunny Smith Peace of Mind Fund – This allows us to provide services that fall outside of normal hospice coverage.

The Daisy Fund – Created in honor of our beloved mascot and loyal friend “Daisy”, who passed away. This fund helps cover the costs of pet care during a patient’s illness.

Bereavement Services – Provided for up to 13 months following the loss of a loved one. We also provide grief support groups, workshops and memorial services.

Giving Tree

Gifts made in honor or memory of a loved one may also become a part of the Crater Community Hospice Giving Tree. Please print and complete the Giving Tree donation form.

Memorial Garden

Dedicating a brick in our Memorial Garden is a beautiful way to create lasting memories and honor our loved ones. To order a specially engraved memorial brick, please complete the Memorial Brick donation form.

Planned Gifts and Bequests

Many donors choose to make arrangements through their estate plans enabling Crater Community Hospice to receive financial support after their death. Donations may include bequests, trusts, retirement plans, insurance policies or other forms of deferred gifts. Directing your attorney to include Crater Community Hospice in your will when it is drafted or revised is simple way to donate.
