CHAIR - Lamont A. Hobbs
Currently serves as Senior Pastor of The Metropolitan Baptist Church. He is the President & Principal Broker of Hobbs Realty, LLC. Lamont is a native of Petersburg, VA. He is Married with two daughters and currently resides in Chester, Virginia.

VICE CHAIR - Rita G. Baldwin
Retired former Regional Director of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA). Rita is a lifetime resident of Central Virginia now living in Chesterfield County.

SECRETARY - Penny Nunnally

TREASURER - Paul Glowinski
Currently working for Capital One Bank as a Director of Finance. Paul graduated with an MBA from William and Mary.

Bud Yerly
Actively employed as Senior VP and Market Lending Executive with the Bank of Southside Virginia. Married with two children, Bud is a resident of Midlothian.

Janice Johnson
Over 30 years’ experience in non-profit and public sectors to include former Chief Financial Officer for “The Improvement Association”, Sussex Virginia, and former Executive Director of the Rudi Johnson Foundation. Presently serves as the GRASP advisor for Petersburg High School and is a resident of Chesterfield County.

Wendal Givens
Actively employed Manager and licensed funeral director – Petersburg Chapel of Johnson and Son Funeral Home. A native and lifelong resident of Dinwiddie County, Wendal is very active in his church, and in local youth and gospel music ministries.

Jane Elliott Huffman
Retired Registered Nurse formerly serving on the board of the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Nursing & former Associate Director of the Southside Regional Medical Center School of Nursing. Married, resident of South Chesterfield.

Brenda Mitchell
A Registered Nurse with a certification in Hospice & Palliative Care retired after serving nearly 20 years as the CEO of Crater Community Hospice, now giving back in a volunteer role. A resident of Midlothian and very active in several local and state-wide civic and professional healthcare related organizations.

Nancy Odum
Retired School Counselor with the Prince George County Public School System and a resident of Dinwiddie County.

Dave Merrit
Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel who began his career as an Army Private and served for 27 years. After commanding an Army Battalion, Dave retired from the Army and subsequently managed large-scale IT projects within IBM for 17 years, retiring in 2017. He currently works for the Virginia Department of Transportation as an IT Project Manager. Dave, and his wife Shelia, have two children and five grandchildren; they reside in Chester, Virginia.

Jeanne Holmes
Jeanne spent 39 years in Higher Education Financing, served two terms (8 years) as a gubernatorial State of Virginia appointee on the Virginia Board of Nursing as a citizen member, and currently serves as the Director of Corporate Services for Caracal Products and Services – a certified minority business enterprise.

Mike Coleman
Mike Coleman’s entire career has been in public service which included 34 years in the Virginia National Guard, then 11 years working for the Commonwealth of Virginia. His experience in the Virginia Guard began as a traditional guardsman, serving one weekend a month and two weeks in the summer. In 1991, he transitioned to full-time employment with the Guard and retired in October 2007 as the Army Chief of Staff at the rank of Colonel. Mike then was asked to apply for a political appointment in the Governor’s cabinet as a Military Relations Liaison. He served in that capacity under 4 Governors, serving both Republican and Democrat administrations, to work with the military communities and installations to ensure Virginia was doing all it could to care for those serving our nation in uniform and their families. He retired in late 2020. Mike received his degree and military commission from VMI. He serves on the Virginia Veterans Services Foundation, the Virginia National Guard Foundation, and as the Finance Chair for Highland United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights. He and his wife, Linda, have lived in Colonial Heights going on 25 years.
